Chinese, 19th century Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). A Yuan Dynasty style squat porcelain bulbous vase or jar with ring foot, bulbous high shouldered body, and constricted neck and mouth, with band of lappets to foot, field to body with chrysanthemum and peony blossoms on vine, the shoulder with further band of floral decoration and Qilin or Kylin mask handles to either side, the neck with band of lappets below band of stylized foliage, and a band of scrolls to mouth, allover with cobalt underglaze decoration on white ground. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 14", diameter 12".
