Possibly Syrian, early 20th century. A matched pair of Anglo-Indian bone and ebony throne chairs having a shaped back elaborately inlaid with a pair of opposing birds amidst flowers and vinery, the floral inlaid arms terminating in lion masks with mouth open and fangs showing and resting on by five curving and inlaid supports joining the seat which is inset and centered with red velvet raised on a inlaid hourglass shaped base. Approximate height 43.5", width 27", seat depth 18", seat height 18".
