Chinese, likely second quarter 20th century. An eggshell porcelain lobed bowl with underglaze blue decoration on white ground, the exterior walls with each lobe bearing a chrysanthemum blossom on stem surrounded by foliate scrolls with a continuous band of lappets above the raised ring foot; the interior with a figural medallion to center depicting Lü Dongbin, one of the eight Buddhist Immortals, standing with a sword on his back and fly brush in his hand within a landscape, the interior rim with a continuous band of scrolls between double line bands, the bowl with a gilt rim. Underside with cobalt underglaze four character mark within a ring surrounded by meandering vines. Approximate diameter 8.25", height 3.25".
