Probably Dutch, 19th century. A matched pair of Queen Anne style burl walnut side chairs having a shaped and arched crestrail, foliate carved ears and scroll carved stiles with vasiform solid splat over a trapezoidal serpentine slip seat within a conforming seat rail centered with a foliate carved shell raised on front cabriole legs carved at the knee with shell and trailing bellflower terminating on pad feet. Approximate height 41", width 20.5", seat depth 14", seat height 17.5". Provenance: Property of the Estate of Dr. Woody Cobbs and Mrs. Honor Cobbs, Atlanta, Georgia.
