German, 17th century. A pair of carved hardwood pilasters, likely oak, in the form of women, each rectangular panel with a heavily stylized female face at top with flowing hair and bulbous eyes set over pert rotund breasts at the apex of a large scrolling leaf as the figure's body over a vertical band of three recessed rings set above a turned form at base. Approximate height 14", width 3.125", depth 2.25".Provenance: From the Estate of Dr. Woody Cobbs and Mrs. Honor Cobbs, Atlanta, Georgia.
