Probably Scottish, third quarter 19th century. An impressive Victorian mahogany tall chest of drawers having a rectangular top with rounded edges over a secret ogee frieze drawer (release mechanisms located in drawer below) and hat box drawer centered to each side with a pair of short drawers, above three graduated long, deep drawers, all flanked by applied scrolling acanthus and trailing fruit, the whole raised on turned bulbous feet. All drawers with applied moldings and fine wood turned pulls. Approximate height 58.6", width 50.8", depth 21.6".
