Italian, late 19th century. Large giltwood gesso and polychrome decorated figural sculpture modeled as a winged putto or cherub with expressive face, the left arm holding aloft a flambeau torch and in his right hand a garland swag of foliage amidst a rocky craig on a rectangular base with serpentine ends decorated with leaf tips and berried laurel leaves resting on a conforming ebonized platform base and four turned feet. Approximate height 31.5", width 47", depth 14".
