French, circa 1815 with restoration. An Empire mahogany and ormolu mounted daybed or lit en bateau having a front concave rail centered with ormolu anthemion and rosette appliques joined to the front turned low post and surmounted at each post with a gilt bronze foliate cap issuing an urn, the tall back turned posters surmounted with a gilt wood carved vasiform applique with leafy finial, the whole resting on block legs and tapered cylindrical dome feet on casters. Approximate height 68.8", width 79.25", depth 41.75". Interior width 73", depth 35".
