French, likely early 20th century. French Empire style ebonized and parcel gilt wood figural chandelier with circular corona at top issuing four carved and gilt birds of prey (likely eagles) whose necks extend to suspend 4 chains joined to the circular font, topped with gilt and carved leaf tip decorated spire finial at center, colza style font issuing a halo of gilt anthemion or palmette leaves which is further mounted to eight gilt and ebonized winged sirens, each with an upswept arm adorned with gilt wood florals, fitted with faux wax candle sleeves on later electrified sockets, with 8 pleated fabric shades. Approximate height 29.3" , diameter (from wax cup to wax cup) 32". Approximate diameter of lamp shades (at base) 5.4".
