La Roche Laffitte (French, b. 1943- ). Group of five botanical studies, each watercolor on silk laid down on paper, each signed lower right "L.R. Laffitte". Comprising of a botanical study depicting Oncidium Orchids, commonly called Dancing Ladies, with thin elongated petals with pale and deep purple spotted coloring, with bright yellow labellum; a botanical study depicting Oncidium Orchids, with petals of varying lengths and widths ranging from wide and stout to elongated and thin, with striating and spotted yellow and brown coloring; a botanical study depicting Brassia Orchids, commonly called Spider Orchids, each with two long, curved petals, a central short and stout petal and three extremely thin petals (called tepals), with spotted red and yellow coloring; a botanical study depicting Anguloa Orchid, commonly called Tulip Orchid, with large, thick pseudobulbs that curve inward, with long, thin, veined leaves, with white coloring; and a botanical study depicting Oncidium Orchids with petals of varying shapes including small almond shaped petals and wide, stout and ruffled petals, with orange, white, purple and yellow coloring. Each frame approximately 27.75" x 21.25". Each sight approximately 21" x 15".
