English, late 19th century. A pair of English Gothic style wrought iron and brass andirons, each raised on two scrolling feet with additional double scrolled apron under the curved knee, the base issuing a squared column decorated with scrolling leaf tips at base and twisted rope form cords at corners terminating at top by "passing through" the square capital topped with small iron balls, the whole capped by polished brass flattened globes. Each with apparently original supports decorated with ball finials at the angle. Approximate height 27.125", width 13.125", depth 24". Provenance: From the Estate of Dr. Woody Cobbs and Mrs. Honor Cobbs, Atlanta, Georgia.
