Continental, 18th century on later mount. A garden finial comprising a large bulbous carved stone ornament with lion's mask and floral medallions united by foliate swags, the ornament to a later cast stone gadrooned urn base raised on a tapering round foot surmounting a square plinth base, also capped with with a gadrooned finial. Approximate overall height 55.5", width 24.5". Provenance: From the collection of Mr. Thomas V. and Mrs. Marie B. Patton, Atlanta, Georgia whereby acquired by a Private Collection, Atlanta, Georgia.
