Flemish, 18th century. A set of four carved fruitwood wall relief sculptures depicting the four seasonal harvests, each with a central full length human figure, some holding an attribute of their season, and each with an urn atop their head bearing the fruit of their season, and set above an icon of their season - a fiery urn, a pair of love birds or peace doves, a sun, and a pair of wine gourds - these icons set above an upward scroll decoration. Winter approximate height 24.9", width 6.2", depth 3". Spring (birds) approximate height 24.7", width 6.8", depth 3.75". Autumn (sun) approximate height 24.5", width 7", depth 3.2". Summer (floral garlands) approximate height 24.3", width 6.75", depth 3.1". Provenance: acquired by the Estate of Dr. Woody Cobbs & Mrs. Honor Cobbs, Atlanta, Georgia from Charles Antiques, New York, in a private sale on May 3, 1966.
