Italian, first quarter 18th century. Baroque period wood cassone, probably fruitwood, having a rectangular top with leaf-tip carved edges over a front panel having elaborately carved vine border enclosing scrolling vinery of grape clusters and leaves over a boldly gadrooned base on front paw feet, the sides mounted with iron handles. Approximate height 22.4", width 66.5", depth 22.12".
