Le Ore (Italian, Late 20th century to contemporary). Large and ornate figural hall clock with three gilt metal winged cherubs or putti with romantic drapes surrounding circular dial with enameled shaped medallion chapter ring with black Roman numerals surrounded by ornate gilt metal casting with scrolled foliate motif, lower medallion marked “MADE IN ITALY”. Case of clock and tapered wall display pedestal base with iridescence white and dark grey mother of pearl style veneers with black and gold scrolled, feathered and geometric borders and ornamentation, additional cast gilt metal borders with leaf tip motif throughout. Back of case with pierced “LE ORE”, back of mechanism marked “TWO (2) JEWELS UNADJUSTED MADE IN GERMANY Franz Hermle 340-020A”. Shaped hinged door on front of pedestal body that opens to reveal shelved storage within. Pedestal form terminating on gilt lion’s paw feet with acanthus leaf knees surmounting an integral incurvate base with fan on apron terminating on cast gilt metal feet. Overall approximate height 83”, width 19.25”, depth 12.5”.
