French, probably Lyons, 18th century. Provincial walnut two door armoire having a molded arched spreading cornice over a shaped paneled frieze centered with Maltese cross above a pair of cartouche shaped paneled and grille inset doors opening to a shelved and painted interior over a scalloped and scroll carved apron, raised on squat cabriole legs. Approximate height 92", width 56", depth 18.25". Provenance: The Nicholson Gallery, Atlanta, Georgia, whereby acquired by the present owner.
