Widdicomb Furniture Company (American, founded 1858), second half 20th century. Matched pair of Louis XV style cream paint and parcel gilt decorated bombe commodes, each having a serpentine molded top over a pair of conforming drawers embellished with gilt acanthus and leafy gadrooned shell over a similarly decorated apron raised on front squat cabriole legs decorated at the knee with gilt acanthus and terminating on scrolled toes. Top drawer on both commodes retain John Widdicomb metal plaque. Approximate height 32", width 42", depth 20.12".
