European, 20th century. Large and fine French Empire style dore bronze mounted cobalt cut to clear centerpiece or tazza having a foliate decorated rim mounted to each side with figural winged griffin or Wyvern handles, the tapering bowl decorated with colorless notch around mouth and a paneled cut body raised on a turned knop and spreading socle decorated with colorless thumbprints, panels and oval reserves, mounted on a dore bronze square base with concave sides. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 20.5" width 19.25" (handle to handle), diameter of bowl 16.25".
