German, likely 17th century. A scrimshaw engraved bone quiver comprising two long bones in a V formation, each carved to front with figural hunting scenes - one with a man on foot hunting a boar, and one with a man on horseback hunting a cloven animal - the remainder of the bone surface carved with overlapping leaf tips, scrolls, and gadroons. Interior of form mounted with folding iron rings, exterior of form with fixed iron loops, the whole secured with iron staples. Approximate height 11.375", width 13.75", depth 2.75".
