Samuel Kirk & Son (American (Maryland), 1815-1979), circa 1860s. An unusual Moorish Revival 11oz silver chamber candlestick of round form with long bent handle, the whole with chased patterning in an Orientalist motif with a radiating floral form having candle cup as the flower's center, the handle with geometric patterning to length terminating in a trefoil shaped end, the candle stick allover with remnants of black pigment. Underside of body with impressed mark "S. Kirk & Son" over "11 oz" and an X or cross form; underside of rim with impressed "2808". Approximate length 9", diameter of bowl 5", overall height 4". Total approximate weight 5.3 troy ounces.
