French, first half 20th century. A pair of Louis XV style carved wood winged confessional bergere chairs with distressed cream painted finish and ecru upholstery, each chair raised on four squat cabriole legs on scrolling toes joined by shaped aprons, at front decorated with flowers and scrolls in relief, with padded acanthine arms and serpentine shoulders joined with bonnet top bearing a crest of flowers and scrolls in relief, with fitted down seat cushion. Approximate height 43", width 28.25", depth 26", seat height (with cushion) 18.5", seat depth 21.5". Provenance: Jacqueline Adams Antiques, Atlanta, Georgia, whereby acquired by a Private Collection, Atlanta, Georgia.
