French, 19th / 20th century. An impressive trumeau mirror with rectangular looking glass, with hand painted figural scene on canvas laid on wooden panel with stripped pine shaped surround, frame with stepped cornice, with scrolled foliates, rocaille shells and flowers; painted scene (likely early 19th century), oil on canvas, depicting figural outdoor picnic scene with six figures lounging in a clearing of trees, one figure with red hat and cape playing lute, one figure with open book, with brown dog in the foreground and mountains in the distance, apparently unsigned. Overall approximately 85" x 42" (across cornice). Provenance: Parc Monceau Fine Antiques & Accessories (Atlanta, GA), whereby acquired by the present owner.
