Ilya Bolotowsky (Russian/American, 1907-1981), "Series 7"-circa 1970, serigraph on paper, pencil signed lower right margin, limited edition noted in pencil "13/125". Modern abstract geometric print depicting on oval form with vertical negative space stripe at right with color blocked orange, yellow and black forms. Unframed sheet size approximately 40" x 30.5". Note: Bolotowsky was highly influenced by the artist Piet Mondrian and the de Stijl movement. In 1936, Bolotowsky co-founded American Abstract Artists, an artist's cooperative. He later taught at Black Mountain College 91946-1948) where Kenneth Noland was one of his students.
