French, mid 18th century, circa 1750. Louis XV period carved beech or walnut wood fauteuil having a foliate carved cresting over a cartouche shaped padded back and scrolled arms with padded elbow rests over a serpentine foliate carved apron on cabriole legs carved at the knee with foliage and terminating on shell carved toes. The padded back, elbow rests and seat covered in very fine salmon damask. Approximate height 38.5", width 24.5" (arm to arm), seat depth 20", seat height 16.5".
