Likely Chinese, likely 20th century. A cast bronze sculpture depicting Shakyamuni Buddha seated in Full Lotus position, legs crossed with both feet bottom's facing upward, holding the Bhumisparsha mudra (the gesture of Witness), the subject's right hand extended forward over knee with fingers touching the ground and with left hand resting palm up on lap, the Buddha with serene expression on an oval face with enamel eyes, elongated earlobes, and traditional tightly curled short hair depicted as dots on his domed head, the figure seated on a rounded triangular integral base. Unmarked. Approximate height 16", width 13.25", depth 9.25".
