Fraktur for Catherina Probst, attributed to Henrich Weiss, southeastern Pennsylvania, July 14, 1776, the complex design incorporating concentric circles surrounded by birds, flowering vines, hearts, and other geometric motifs, 13 x 16 1/4 in. (sight), in a black-painted frame. Estimate $2,000-3,000 Fraktur sealed acrylic and mat board mount. Surface shows evidence of several spots of paper restoration and in-painting due to losses and tears. The largest area of restoration is the dark green section of the tail on the upper left bird.
