Fraktur for Henrich Huber, Abraham Brubaker (Huber Artist), Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, c. 1790, with border of straight lines issuing tulips and other blossoms and leaves and two perched birds, surrounding the inscription with illuminated top line, (toned, minor losses and repairs), 12 1/2 x 15 1/2 in., in a black-painted frame. Provenance: Dr. Donald Shelley Collection, Pook & Pook, October 8, 2004. Estimate $2,000-3,000 Several archival tissue repairs to splits/holes in the sheet, the black ink portions of the title have created holes in the paper that are also patched. There is an approximately 1 1/2 x 3/4 in. area of paper restoration and some in-painting in the upper center portion of the sheet and an area of paper restoration above the bird on the right side of the sheet. Sheet attached to a blue laid paper backing by four short adhesive strips. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
