Inlaid Cherry Slant-lid Desk, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, early 19th century, the hinged lid opens to an interior of a heart-inlaid prospect drawer within a tombstone surround, flanked by vertically string-inlaid document drawers, eight small drawers, and arched openings with contrasting pieces of veneer, above a case of four thumb-molded, string-inlaid, and graduated long drawers, on slightly flaring French feet, ht. 44, wd. 41, dp. 22 1/2 in. Provenance: Kelly Kinzle. Estimate $2,000-4,000 left and right rear bracket facings likely replaced, repairs to front feet, ink stain to writing surface at upper left, shrinkage cracks to sides, especially left side.
