Walnut Inlaid Chest of Drawers, Chester County, Pennsylvania, late 18th century, the molded top with double string-inlaid border above a similarly inlaid case of three short cockbeaded drawers and three graduated long drawers flanked by inlay and lambrequin corners, all on molded ogee bracket base, ht. 38, wd. 40, dp. 23 1/2 in. Provenance: Joyce Collis, Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Estimate $2,000-4,000 holes in drawerfronts where old brasses were; crack in top; four glueblocks missing, one foot wiggles slightly, patch to knot in one side. No major repairs or restorations.
