Paint-decorated Pine Six-board Chest, Mohawk Valley, New York, early 19th century, the molded top above a well with till, on molded shoe feet, the interior of the top lettered "W. BURLINGAME, J.R." and with "pointing hand" stamps, (imperfections and paint wear), ht. 18, wd. 53, dp. 20 1/2 in. Note: The inscription on the interior of the top may refer to the early 20th century antiques dealer Westcott Burlingame of Albany, New York. Estimate $1,000-1,500 paint wear to top especially front half, top with shrinkage cracks, one hinge changed, lock damaged, smells of mothballs.
