Cherry Serpentine Chest of Four Drawers, Connecticut River Valley, late 18th century, the molded top with blocked ends above a conforming case of four scratchbeaded graduated drawers on ogee bracket base, old brass pulls, refinished, ht. 36 1/4, wd. 43 1/2, dp. 21 1/2 in. Estimate $2,000-4,000 shrinkage to drawers and some repair - replacements to runners, bottoms have shrunk out of the grooves in places, vertical patch (1 inch wide) to left side of bottom drawer. plugs to holes in center of drawers (perhaps from old escutcheons?), backboards with losses.
