Fraktur Valentine with Cutwork and Decoration, Pennsylvania, c. 1820-40, the segments incorporating cutwork birds, tulips, and stars with watercolor details, the center with Germanic inscriptions, stars in the corners are painted on the backing, framed, ht. 18 3/4, wd. 19 in. Provenance: Sidney Gecker. Estimate $1,500-2,500 Good overall condition with occasional minor paper separations around the small details, small amount of paper loss to the green line in the central star. attached to the backboard through the cutwork decoration in the topmost two sections.
