Two Costa Rican Stone Mace Heads, c. 500-1000 AD, an owl-form mace head of alabaster with central insertion shaft hole, with large curved beak, recessed round eyes and horns, carved wings folded over the back above a tab tail; and a gray stone avian mace head with a projecting bird head, with barrel-shaped spike projecting from the center of the head, ht. 2 1/4, wd. 3 1/2, and ht. 2 1/4, wd. 3 7/8 in.
