Circle of Michiel van Mierevelt (Dutch, 1567-1641) Portrait Head of a Bearded Man in a Ruff, Possibly William the Silent van Orange-Nassau Unsigned. Oil on panel, 21 5/8 x 19 in. (55.0 x 48.4 cm), framed. Condition: Vertical crack or added piece to panel about 2 in. in from left edge with more pronounced craquelure/alligatoring in that area and minor paint loss, heavily varnished with minor dots of retouch to the background. Provenance: The estate of George Way. Estimate $700-900 Framed dimensions are 27 3/8 x 24 7/8 x 1 1/2 inches. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
