Dutch School, 17th Century Ships Tossed in a Storm at Sea Unsigned. Oil on canvas, 12 1/8 x 18 in. (30.8 x 45.7 cm), unframed. Condition: Lined, old retouch, craquelure some minor paint losses, darkened varnish. N.B. Notes from the George Way collection say that this work is initialed "J.H." on the gunwale of one of the ships, but it was not discovered when the work was cataloged. Provenance: The estate of George Way. Estimate $200-300 Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
