Pair of Finn Juhl (1912-1989) for Niels Vodder "NV-53" Lounge Chairs, Denmark, c. 1955, teak, brass, upholstery, branded maker's mark, ht. 29, wd. 28, dp. 28 in. Provenance: Property from a Cambridge, Massachusetts estate. Note: Finn Juhl was a Danish architect, interior and industrial designer, most well-known for his furniture design. He was one of the leading figures in the creation of "Danish Design" in the 1940s and he was the designer who introduced Danish Modern to America. Estimate $4,000-6,000 Good condition. Later reupholstery in good condition with no rips, tears or significant staining. Joints are solid with no play. Tight crack at joint where left arm attached to leg on one chair.
