Edward Wormley (1907-1995) for Dunbar Leopard Print Sofa, Berne, Indiana, mid-20th century, unmarked, ht. 26 1/2, wd. 90, dp. 36 1/2 in. Note: Edward J. Wormley was an American modern furniture designer. In 1926 he studied briefly at the Art Institute of Chicago and then worked as an interior designer for Marshall Fields & Company. In 1944, while working for Dunbar, Wormley led their Modern focus incorporating European and Scandinavian influences into their lines. The result was furniture that was sophisticated yet mainstream, and very successful. Estimate $800-1,200 Recently reupholstered. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
