Edward Wormley (1907-1995) for Dunbar Armchair, Berne, Indiana, c. 1955, mahogany, reupholstered in Knoll Sunflower Rivington textile, ht. 36 1/2, seat ht. 20, wd. 23, dp. 25 in. Note: Edward J. Wormley was an American modern furniture designer. In 1926 he studied briefly at the Art Institute of Chicago and then worked as an interior designer for Marshall Fields & Company. In 1944, while working for Dunbar, Wormley led their Modern focus incorporating European and Scandinavian influences into their lines. The result was furniture that was sophisticated yet mainstream, and very successful. Estimate $200-400 Professional repair to rear right leg facing. Professionally refinished/re-upholstered.
