Olive Green-glazed Stoneware Jar, China, possibly Later Han dynasty, bulbous form with slightly flaring neck and banded mouth, two applied strap handles over shoulder, the upper body decorated with incised lines, combed waves, stamped rings, and raised three-line bands, bisque lower body and neck, ht. 17 3/8 in. Provenance: Purchased from Christie's, December 3, 1992, Sale 7542, Lot 223. Estimate $2,000-3,000 traces of touch ups or repairs between second and third bands of raised design.
