Polished Bronze Vessel, China, 19th/20th century, oval basin form with two chilong handles to sides, resting on four figures of boys, four-character Xuande mark on base, ht. 7 3/8, wd. 14 3/8 in. Provenance: By repute, purchased in China during the 1920s by a naval officer; then by descent to the present owner. Estimate $600-800 some casting flaws particularly to the interior, spotty tarnishing and patinas, some residues to details, wt. approx. 12.8 lb.
