Two Gold-lacquered Boxes, Japan, 19th century, a two-tiered square box and cover with lobed corners, depicting a chrysanthemum flower bed with clouds in hiramaki-e, nashiji interior and base, unsigned, with an inscribed box, 2 x 2 x 2; and a rectangular tokidashi box and cover, depicting a landscape with Mt. Fuji, nashiji interior and base, unsigned 1 1/8 x 2 3/8 x 3 1/2 in. Estimate $300-500 rectangular one with a crack to a corner and interior rim chip, stacked box with small chip to bottom edge of middle stacked section, minor inlay losses.
