Hirado Blue and White Jar and Cover, Japan, Meiji period, decorated with auspicious emblems in roundels against a trellis ground in relief, the cover topped with a shishi finial, six-character mark possibly reading "Hirado san Hoshitake sei" on base, ht. 8 3/4 in. Estimate $500-700 minor potting flaw to the mouth of the jar, otherwise in good condition. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
