Anna Eliza Hardy (American, 1839-1934) Violets Signed "A E Hardy" l. r. Oil on academy board, 10 1/4 x 8 1/2 in. (26.0 x 21.6 cm), framed. Condition: Minor retouch and surface grime, small abrasion c.r. Provenance: The Stebbins family collection, Massachusetts, purchased from Chris Beetles Gallery, London. Estimate $600-800 There is natural fluorescence as well as scattered retouch. Most is quite minor; the largest area is to the underside of the upper-most leaf. There is a surface abrasion about 3/8 inches to the right side of the vase. The frame is 15 x 13 1/4 x 1 1/2 in. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
