Norbertine Bresslern-Roth (Austrian, 1891-1978) Ibisse (Scarlet Ibis), c. 1924. Signed "Bresslern-Roth." in pencil l.r., inscribed "Handdruck." in pencil l.l. Color linocut on paper, image size 9 7/8 x 7 1/8 in. (25.0 x 18.1 cm), framed. Condition: Strong color, unobtrusive toning to paper, water staining to lower margin, not examined out of frame. Provenance: A private western Massachusetts collection. Estimate $200-300 Out of the frame the sheet measures 12 1/8 x 9 3/8 in. It is evenly toned, plus the water staining previously mentioned. The left edge is crimped. It is inscribed "14" in pencil at the corner l.l. The work is affixed to a backing sheet along the upper edge on verso. Frame measures 13 x 10 1/4 x 3/4 in.
