Blue and White Opium Bottle, China, 19th/20th century, flattened ovoid form with a raised oval foot, decorated with mythological scenes, four-character Qianlong mark on base, ht. 3 3/4 in. Provenance: By family descent from Thomas Handasyd Perkins (1764-1854). Perkins was an opium trader; he and his brother founded the Boston Athenaeum and the Perkins School for the Blind.
