Howard & Davis No. 1 Regulator Wall Clock, Boston, c. 1860, rosewood-grained case with turned wooden bezel over the 12 1/2-in. painted iron roman numeral dial with seconds bit, hinged waist and base doors with half-round moldings frame the black and gold reverse-painted glasses, the lower opens to the weight baffle and tie-down, eight-day trapezoidal shaped movement with deadbeat escapement, maintaining power, Geneva stop, and top-mounted regulating assembly marked "Howard & Davis, Boston," all powered by an iron weight and regulated by a giltwood pendulum rod and a brass-faced bob, ht. 50 in. Estimate $2,000-4,000 Lower glass has a crack. Dial has signature but is worn so as to be illegible, some of the numerals have been in-painted.
