Federal Mahogany Lolling Chair, probably Massachusetts, c. 1795, with serpentine crest, scratch-beaded arms on molded concave supports and similarly molded tapering front legs, ht. 44, seat ht. 16 1/2 in. Provenance: Property Approved for Deaccession by the Board of Trustees of Historic Deerfield, Inc. Proceeds to the benefit the Museum Collections Fund. Estimate $700-900 Both arms have repairs at the front and where they join the seat frame, chair is sturdy. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
