Set of Four Chippendale Dining Chairs, Massachusetts, late 18th century, with pierced owl splats, trapezoidal slip seats, and cabriole front legs, ht. 37, seat ht. 17 1/4 in. Estimate $1,200-1,800 Two have very minor patches to the splats, one chair the platforms on the pad feet have been carved (fluted), one splat has a very minor and stable shrinkage crack, one seat rail has a glued crack along the grain on the inside, chairs are very stable.
