Japy Freres & Cie (French, founded 1771-1970), first quarter of 20th century. Light blue Sevres style glazed porcelain mantel clock with hand painted gilt flowers and scrolling on domed and scrolled case, scrolled sides supported on four Corinthian style champleve enamel columns flanking circular dial behind hinged glazed door that opens to access white enameled metal face with black Arabic numerals outside floral swags. Face above portrait medallion with woman in pink and yellow dress, possibly Marie Antoinette within gilt borders accented with flowers, clock case supported on stepped feet with acanthus leaf brackets at front, bracket feet at back. Back of case inscribed "Made in France" below gilt floral spray under hinged door to access movement. Movement marked "5851 44" under circular medallion identifying the movement at Japy Freres & Cie. Additional impressed numbers on back of ormolu and champleve crest at top center of dome "S 175". Overall approximate height 11.125", width 11", depth 5.25".
