Small Chippendale Carved Mahogany Camel-back Sofa, with serpentine crest, outward-scrolling arms, Marlborough legs, and tacked green damask upholstery, ht. 37, wd. 68 3/4, dp. 26 in. Provenance: Property Approved for Deaccession by the Board of Trustees of Historic Deerfield, Inc. Proceeds to the benefit the Museum Collections Fund. Estimate $800-1,200 The back of the left rear leg has some chipping/losses, the back of the right rear leg has a patch. Legs likely shortened a little. Bottoms of legs scooped out and filled (old casters?). some new bracing and possible alterations visible underneath. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
